Chapter Philanthropy and Service

Zeta Tau Alpha’s chapter at the University of Virginia has hosted our annual Run for Life 5K in Charlottesville, Virginia every year for the past 28 years. Our race seeks to raise awareness for breast cancer while raising funds for the UVA Breast Care Center and the ZTA Foundation. Our chapter has Pink Week in the fall which consists of dine-outs, a flag football game, and the UVA Football Breast Cancer Awareness Game. In years past, we have attracted approximately 1000 participants and raised over $37,000 for breast cancer each year. These events mean so much to our chapter members, UVA, and the Charlottesville community.

Breast cancer affects 1 in 8 women in the United States.

Gamma Nu also holds a THINK PINK week in the fall including the following events: PINK OUT football game, Cookout for a Cure, Dine-Out-for-Pink-Out, Kendra Scott and Arbonne trunk show, and Chick-fil-a sale.

During the 2015 College Game Day coverage for the UVA vs. Duke basketball game, sister Clair Jones won the Off Court Assist Challenge and with it a check for $5,000 towards ZTA and it's Breast Cancer research.
